 CONTEMPORARY ABSTRACT IN SOFT NEUTRALS

Softly Spoken is an original abstract painting built through layers of soft colour, expressive brushwork, and intuitive marks. There’s a quietness to the palette, but plenty happening within the layers - small shifts in colour and texture that reveal themselves the longer you look.

Pale lilac, blush, chalky white, muted butter, and soft earthy neutrals move across the canvas, with occasional deeper burgundy and rust tones adding contrast. Looser linework weaves through the composition, bringing movement to an otherwise gentle, tonal palette.

Created in my Perth studio, this 150 x 100cm abstract artwork has a softness that makes it easy to live with, while its scale and layered surface give it enough presence to hold a room.
