Inspired by the iconic sunsets at Cottesloe Beach, Cott Summers is a soft, expressive abstract painting that captures the warmth, light, and shifting colour of long summer evenings by the coast. Painted on cotton canvas, this large-scale original artwork is layered with fluid forms, soft transitions, and vibrant moments.

The palette is drawn from memory—those golden hours when the sky turns dusty pink, burnt orange, and soft lilac, melting into the ocean. But this isn’t a literal seascape. Like all my work, Cott Summers isn’t about recreating a specific place. It’s about translating the feeling it gives you. The stillness. The warmth on your skin. The way everything slows down for a moment.

I might have a subject in mind while I paint, but abstract art isn’t about exactness for me. I want each piece to connect through colour, shape, and movement—so if someone sees something else entirely, I love that. That’s where the beauty lies. It’s about what you experience when you stand in front of it.
